I decided to use Zotero, Voyant tools, excel (for the pie chart), and Tableau Public for my final project. I had prior experience with using Excel for making visualizations, but our activity from class has given me a reason to look further into the capabilities of Excel. After looking through all the options, I chose the pie chart because it highlights the contrast of differing opinions the best. I had never used Zotero and Voyant tools before, but I’m glad we learned about them. Zotero makes saving sources and citations much easier than Easibib, and I have also used it during my portfolio research. Voyant Tools is also an excellent text analysis tool, which I used to determine patterns in New York Times articles about chatGPT related to education.
Lastly, I used Tableau Public, which I technically did not need to learn because we were told not to use it. My boss had told me he uses it all the time for visualizations, so I knew it would be worth learning. Due to my prior experience with coding and another visualization program, I enjoyed the learning process. It has so many visualization options that look professional and clean. I plan to use Tableau at my job next year when presenting contracts.
