This course is a great way to prepare for the advancement of the digital world, with building skills such as determining the validity of a source or choosing the best research method. The best part of this course is working on WordPress, which I used for my Business Analytics portfolio. It would be helpful for the student if they have experience in programs like Excel and comp sci languages. Also, students should read current news about AI search engines and technology since it can help during the many discussions we have about them.
This course should be taken either sophomore or junior year. The majors most compatible with this class are sociology and computer science. The most compatible minors are data science and journalism. Individuals in these majors and minors have the right mindset and critical thinking skills that will help them excel in this class, especially data science for visualizations. Overall, this is a great course to better adapt to modern society.
